Deskwoot Reports export to CSV with one click. The export covers the time range you picked on the Reports page (last 7, 30 or 90 days). Files are UTF-8 encoded, so emojis and non-Latin scripts come through in Excel, Google Sheets, and LibreOffice Calc (if Excel shows garbled characters, import the file as UTF-8, see below). Use exports for stakeholder reports, spreadsheets, or feeding into your own BI tooling.

Exporting reports as CSV in Deskwoot is a one-click download from the report view that pulls the underlying rows into a spreadsheet for analysis or sharing. There are 3 export types, and each gives you a different slice of your data: conversations, agents, and CSAT. Reporting (and these exports) is available on the Startup plan and above.

What are the 3 export types?

The export buttons are on the Reports overview. Each export contains a different set of rows. Administrators can always export; other members need a custom role (Enterprise) with View reports and Export reports, and their files only hold the conversations assigned to them.

  • Conversations export: one row per conversation created in the range, with ID, status, priority, contact name and email, assigned agent, team, inbox, channel, labels, and the created, updated and first reply timestamps. This is the raw ticket-level data, so it is what you reach for to cross-reference first replies and agent workload in a single file.
  • Agents export: one row per agent, with numbers like those in the agent performance report: name, email, role, conversations, resolved conversations and average response time in minutes. This export is available to administrators only, since it covers everyone's numbers and not just your own.
  • CSAT export: one row per survey response, with the rating, any comment the customer left, the customer, the agent, the date and the conversation it belongs to. Use it to read satisfaction feedback in bulk rather than clicking through scores one at a time. CSAT itself needs the Business plan or above and is configured per inbox, so the export only has data once CSAT is collecting responses.

How do I export a report?

  1. Open Reports from the main sidebar.
  2. Pick the time range at the top: Last 7 days, Last 30 days or Last 90 days.
  3. Click Export conversations CSV or Export CSAT CSV. Administrators also see Export agent performance CSV.
  4. Your browser downloads a .csv you can open in Excel, Google Sheets, or LibreOffice Calc.

Tips for clean exports

  • Pick the range before you export. Set the time range first so the file holds only what you need.
  • Name files consistently. Something like conversations_jan2026.csv makes them easy to find later.
  • Export on a cadence. A weekly or monthly export builds a history you can chart over time.
  • Keep backups. Drop important exports in a shared drive so the rest of the team can reach them.

Troubleshooting

  • Empty or short file: check the time range. Only conversations created in that range are included, and the CSAT file only lists surveys that got a rating.
  • Garbled characters: open the file with UTF-8 encoding so accents and non-Latin scripts render correctly.
  • Slow to generate: 90 days with thousands of conversations takes a moment. Let it finish before clicking again.
  • No agents export option: that one is for administrators only. If you cannot see it, your role does not have access to other agents' data.

Frequently asked questions

What's included in a conversation export?
ID, display ID, status, priority, contact name and email, assignee, team, inbox, channel, labels, created at, updated at, first reply at, and the contact's display name. Ratings are in the separate CSAT export.
Can I export private notes?
No. The exports contain no message text at all, neither replies nor private notes.
Are exports rate-limited?
Not heavily. Use sane batching (one big monthly export beats many small daily ones) so you don't accidentally trip the platform-wide protective limits, but there's no specific per-account quota we publish today.
Can I schedule recurring exports?
Not natively. The CSV export needs a signed-in user, so it can't be called with an API token. Your own cron job can read the reports API with an API token (Enterprise) instead and store the numbers in S3 or Google Drive.
What if I have a huge date range?
The longest range is the last 90 days. The file is built while you wait, so a busy account may need a moment. Older periods can't be exported from Reports.
Why is my export showing weird characters?
Spreadsheet didn't read UTF-8. In Excel: Data → From Text → Origin = 65001 Unicode (UTF-8). In Google Sheets: just open, it auto-detects. UTF-8 is the export's encoding.
Can I export only a date range?
Yes: the last 7, 30 or 90 days. Pick the range on the Reports page, then export. The CSV reflects only that range. A custom date range isn't available.
What timezone are the timestamps in?
All export timestamps are UTC ISO8601. Convert in your spreadsheet if you want local time. Reason for UTC: it's unambiguous and doesn't break if anyone uses the export across timezones.
Can agents export, or only admins?
Depends on role. By default only admins. Custom roles on Enterprise can grant View reports and Export reports without granting Settings access; such a member's files only hold the conversations assigned to them.
Do exports include deleted conversations?
No. Deleted conversations are gone from the export query path. If you need a record of what was deleted, the audit log on Enterprise captures the delete action with timestamp and actor; reconstructing the content itself is not possible after deletion.
Can I open the CSV directly in Google Sheets?
Yes. Drag and drop, or File → Import. Auto-detects columns. UTF-8 + Unix line endings work perfectly with Sheets.
How many kinds of export are there?
Three: a conversations export (ticket-level rows), an agents export (per-agent metrics, administrators only), and a CSAT export (one row per survey response with rating and comment).
Why can't I export the agents report?
The agents export is restricted to administrators because it contains everyone's performance data. The conversations and CSAT exports are still available to other roles, subject to your permissions.
Does the conversations export include CSAT?
No. Ratings and comments are in the dedicated CSAT export, one row per rated survey with the conversation number.
Is there a limit on export size?
No hard limit, but very large exports take longer. A shorter time range speeds things up and gives a more focused file.
Can I automate exports?
Exports are triggered manually from Reports. For automated workflows, the REST API (Enterprise) can pull report data programmatically as JSON.
