Deleting your Deskwoot account is permanent. All conversations, contacts, settings, inboxes, AI configs, and help center content are permanently wiped. Billing records and invoices are not deleted automatically. Only the account owner can start the deletion, and we offer 2 months of Enterprise free once during the flow if you'd reconsider. After you confirm through the email link, your workspace is deleted 30 days later (or 30 days after the end of a period you already paid for), and then it can't be undone.

Deleting Your Account

If you've decided that Deskwoot is no longer the right fit for your team, you can permanently delete your account from the Account Settings page. Before you proceed, please read through this guide carefully. Once the deletion has been carried out, it can't be undone, and all of your workspace data is permanently removed.

How to Delete Your Account

  1. Go to Settings > Account Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the Danger Zone section.
  3. Click Delete account.
  4. Select your reason for leaving and click Continue.
  5. You will be offered 2 months of Enterprise for free with 2 agent seats (a one-time offer). Click Accept offer and stay, or No thanks, continue with deletion.
  6. If you choose to continue, type your email address to confirm.
  7. Click Send confirmation email.
  8. Check your inbox and click Confirm deletion in the email. This link is valid for 24 hours.
  9. On the page that opens, click Yes, schedule deletion. You are then redirected to the homepage.
  10. Your workspace is deleted 30 days after this confirmation. If a period you already paid for is still running, the 30 days start when it ends. Until then, your workspace keeps working.

What Gets Deleted

When the deletion is carried out, the following data is permanently removed:

  • All conversations and messages, including their files
  • All contacts and their data
  • All settings and configurations
  • All inboxes and channel connections
  • All team members and roles
  • All automation rules, macros, and saved filters
  • All AI bot configurations and training data
  • All help center content
  • All audit logs

What Gets Retained

The following billing data is not deleted automatically:

  • Billing and payment transaction records
  • Invoice history
  • Prepaid balance transaction logs

Your user login (name and email address) is not part of the workspace and is not removed with it. If you want it removed as well, contact our support.

Important Notes

  • Only the account owner (the first administrator of the workspace, usually the person who created it) can delete the account.
  • Once the deletion has been carried out, it is irreversible. There is no way to recover your data after that.
  • If you have a paid subscription, cancel it first under Settings > Billing. You can't start the deletion while a subscription is still running.
  • The retention offer (2 months free Enterprise) can only be used once per account.

Best-Practice Tips Before You Delete

  • Export your data first. Before initiating deletion, export any conversation transcripts, contact lists, or help center articles you may need in the future.
  • Notify your team. All team members lose access when the deletion is carried out, so make sure everyone is informed ahead of time.
  • Disconnect integrations. If you have active Shopify, WooCommerce, or other channel connections, consider disconnecting them manually beforehand to ensure a clean separation.

Troubleshooting

I didn't receive the confirmation email

Check your spam or junk folder. If the email still hasn't arrived after a few minutes, return to the Danger Zone section, click Delete account and go through the steps again to get a new email. Make sure you type the email address of your own login.

My confirmation link expired

Confirmation links are valid for 24 hours. If yours has expired, simply restart the deletion process from Settings > Account Settings to generate a new link.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the deletion take to complete?
After you confirm, your workspace stays for 30 more days (or until 30 days after the end of a period you already paid for). Then it is deleted for good. Until that date, your workspace and your team's access keep working.
Can I export my data first?
Yes, and we strongly recommend it. Export conversations as CSV under Reports (Export conversations CSV). Contacts and help center articles can be read through the REST API (API tokens need the Enterprise plan).
Can I reactivate after deleting?
No. Deletion is final. Signing up again creates a brand new account with no link to the old one.
What about my Stripe subscription?
Cancel it under Settings → Billing before you start the deletion. It ends at the end of the period you already paid for, and pro-rated refunds aren't issued. Once it has ended, you can start the deletion.
What data does Deskwoot retain after deletion?
Billing transaction records and invoices (they are not deleted automatically) and your user login. Everything else (conversations, contacts, customer data, settings, AI configs, knowledge base, audit logs) is permanently wiped.
Why are you offering 2 months free Enterprise?
Most accounts that hit the delete flow are stuck on something solvable. Two months on the highest tier gives time to try the features or talk to us about why you're leaving. One-time per account.
Can a non-admin delete the account?
No. Only the workspace owner, the first administrator of the workspace, can delete it. If you don't have that role, talk to the owner.
What if I miss the 24-hour confirmation window?
Restart the deletion flow from scratch. Same place: Settings → Account Settings → Danger Zone. New confirmation email gets sent with a fresh 24-hour window.
Does deletion remove me from any GDPR-mandated processor records?
Audit logs and the record of your accepted data processing agreement are deleted together with the workspace. Only the billing records described above are kept.
Will my team be notified?
Not automatically. All team members lose access the moment deletion completes. Tell them ahead of time so they can save what they need.
What if I have a custom domain set up?
The custom domain stops working once the account is deleted. Your DNS records still exist at your provider but they point to nothing. Remove or repoint them yourself afterwards.
