Deskwoot has 4 plans: Hacker (free), Startup, Business and Enterprise, and you manage yours under Settings > Billing. You pay for each agent seat, never for contacts. Every new workspace starts with 7 days of Enterprise for free, no credit card needed. The Billing page shows your current plan, your seats, your AI usage and your prepaid balance.

What each plan costs

Prices are in US dollars for each agent a month:

  • Hacker: free.
  • Startup: $4 a month, or $3.20 a month when you pay for a year.
  • Business: $8 a month, or $6.40 a month when you pay for a year.
  • Enterprise: $12 a month, or $9.60 a month when you pay for a year.

Paying for a year saves 20%. A team of 4 on Business with monthly billing pays 4 times $8.

How seats work

Every active agent holds a seat, and so does every invitation until it is accepted, revoked or expires. Contacts (your customers) never cost anything. When all seats are taken, you can invite another agent only after you add a seat or revoke an open invitation.

When your number of seats goes down, Deskwoot suspends the agents who joined last until the count fits. Administrators are never suspended. The open and pending conversations of a suspended agent go to the administrator who joined first.

Hacker

The free plan for one person who wants one place to answer customers.

  • 1 agent.
  • Live chat inboxes and email forwarding inboxes do not count toward the inbox limit. On top of them you can connect 1 inbox of another channel, for example WhatsApp or Telegram.
  • 100 new conversations a month. Conversations stay visible for 30 days after their last activity.
  • Email arrives by forwarding, see Forward Gmail to Deskwoot. Connecting a mailbox over IMAP and SMTP needs Startup. Gmail and Outlook also connect over IMAP and SMTP or by forwarding; there is no sign in with Gmail or Outlook.
  • Copilot with 10 included AI conversations. Extra AI conversations cannot be bought on Hacker.

The AI bot Fynn, the Training Hub, labels, canned responses, macros, automation rules, reports and the help center start with Startup.

Startup

Everything in Hacker, plus:

  • As many agents and inboxes as you need, on all 8 channels.
  • 1,000 new conversations a month, visible for 180 days.
  • The AI bot Fynn, which answers on all 8 channels, your own AI bots and the Training Hub. 50 included AI conversations.
  • Help center, reports, automation rules, macros, labels and canned responses.
  • Saved views, business hours, forms before the chat starts and the cookieless mode of the live chat widget.
  • Email inboxes connected over IMAP and SMTP, Gmail and Outlook included.
  • Top ups of your prepaid balance for extra AI conversations.

Business

Everything in Startup, plus:

  • No monthly limit on conversations, visible for 1 year (365 days).
  • Teams, campaigns and contact segments, custom attributes and CSAT surveys.
  • The Translate conversation button in the conversation header, and translating your draft with Copilot. See Multilingual conversations.
  • 100 included AI conversations.

Enterprise

Everything in Business, plus:

  • Conversations stay visible without a time limit.
  • SLA policies, audit logs and custom roles, for example to decide who may send campaigns or view and export reports (see Who can see Reports).
  • REST API tokens and the MCP server.
  • Requiring two factor sign in for every member.
  • A custom domain for your help center, and hiding "Powered by Deskwoot" in the help center and the live chat widget.
  • Choosing who in the team may use Copilot.
  • 300 included AI conversations.

The monthly conversation limit

Hacker includes 100 and Startup 1,000 new conversations in each calendar month. Business and Enterprise have no limit. When the limit is reached, administrators get an email.

After that, visitors cannot start a new chat in the live chat widget, and you cannot start a new conversation from the dashboard until the next month. Conversations from other channels, such as email, still come in. They are listed last in the conversation list and stay locked. Upgrade your plan to open them, or delete conversations from this month to make room.

Older conversations and contacts outside your plan's time window are hidden, not deleted. After an upgrade you see them again right away.

How AI conversations are counted

The AI bot Fynn, Copilot and the Translate conversation button in a conversation share one allowance.

  • One AI conversation is one conversation that Fynn, Copilot or Translate worked on in a calendar month. It counts once, however often the AI works in it that month.
  • Plans include 10 (Hacker), 50 (Startup), 100 (Business) or 300 (Enterprise) AI conversations. Settings > Billing shows your count under AI Usage, in the line for the current month, for example Conversations in October 2026, with the date of the next reset below it.
  • The count starts again on the 1st of every month (UTC), on every plan and whatever your billing date. When a free trial ends, a new count starts at that moment, so what the trial used does not count against your next plan.
  • Help, the product help panel in the left rail, is free and never counts, see Help or Copilot.
  • A bot that runs on your own Anthropic API key does not count toward the allowance.

On paid plans, extra AI conversations are paid from your Prepaid Balance: $0.07 each on Startup, $0.05 on Business and $0.03 on Enterprise. Add between $5 and $1,000 with Top up in Settings > Billing, or switch on Auto-Recharge. There you set the Recharge amount ($), the balance that starts a recharge (Recharge when balance below ($)) and Max recharges/month. The same balance pays for help center article translations at $0.06 each.

Administrators get an email when 80% of the included AI conversations are used and another one when all are used. When nothing is left, Fynn hands the chat to your team, and Copilot says that the AI conversations are used up or that the prepaid balance is empty. More in AI conversations and billing.

Free trial

Every new workspace starts with the Enterprise plan for 7 days. There is no charge and no credit card. The trial includes 300 AI conversations. REST API tokens are not part of it; they need a paid Enterprise plan. It comes with 5 agent seats, yours included, so you can invite up to 4 teammates during the trial. After it, the seats of your plan apply, and the agents above them are suspended until you add seats. An administrator gets an email 2 days before the trial ends.

Pick a paid plan under Settings > Billing to keep your features. Without one, the workspace goes to Hacker when the trial ends.

Change your plan

Only administrators can change the plan, add seats or top up the balance.

  1. Open Settings > Billing.
  2. Under Change Plan (called Upgrade Your Plan while you have no subscription), choose Monthly or Annual and set the Number of agents.
  3. Click the button on the plan you want, for example Upgrade or Downgrade. With a running subscription, Deskwoot opens Stripe so you can confirm the change.

Manage Subscription next to your current plan opens your subscription at Stripe.

If you subscribe from Hacker after your free trial has ended and pick 1 agent, the first 7 days of the subscription are free. Stripe asks for a card and charges it when those 7 days are over. With 2 or more agents you pay from the first day.

When your plan no longer includes campaigns or automation rules, running campaigns and active rules are paused and every administrator gets an email. They stay listed, so you can edit or delete them, and nothing switches itself back on after an upgrade. See paused features after a downgrade.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Deskwoot cost?

Hacker is free. Startup costs $4, Business $8 and Enterprise $12 for each agent a month. Paying for a year lowers that to $3.20, $6.40 and $9.60.

Is the price for each agent or for each contact?

For each agent seat. Every active agent and every open invitation holds a seat. Contacts never cost anything.

What do I get during the free trial?

A 7 day Enterprise trial without a credit card: 300 AI conversations and 5 agent seats, but no REST API tokens. There is no charge.

What happens when the trial ends?

If you picked a paid plan, you keep it. Otherwise the workspace goes to Hacker. Active automation rules and running campaigns are paused, and your data stays.

Does Copilot count toward my AI conversations?

Yes. The first time Copilot or the Translate conversation button works on a conversation in a month, it uses one AI conversation. More work in the same conversation that month costs nothing extra. The Help panel in the left rail is free.

What happens if we use more AI conversations than the plan includes?

On Startup, Business and Enterprise, each extra one is paid from your prepaid balance ($0.07, $0.05 or $0.03). If the balance is empty, Fynn hands chats to your team until you top up. Hacker cannot buy extra AI conversations.

What happens when we reach the monthly conversation limit?

New live chats and conversations you start from the dashboard are refused until the next month. Conversations from other channels still arrive but stay locked until you upgrade.

Who can change the plan?

Administrators. They change it under Settings > Billing.

Do I lose data when I downgrade?

No. Conversations outside the new plan's time window are hidden, not deleted, and come back after an upgrade. Campaigns and automation rules stay, just paused.

Which plan do I need for the AI bot Fynn?

Startup or higher. Hacker includes Copilot with 10 AI conversations, but not Fynn.
